Though we might not always think of it this way, the story of Jesus' birth may actually bear some resemblance to...an awkward family photo? Think about it, a young woman is told by an angel she'll have a baby and her husband-to-be, unsurprisingly, struggles with this fact but stays by her side until their son is born in a barn. Sounds awkward, right? It's easy to forget that the Christmas story, and many other stories in the Bible, are about humans and how they've interacted with God and others. In this Christmas series, we'll look at the Christmas story from the perspectives of the human characters within it and, hopefully, gain a new appreciation for the human world that Jesus was born into.
