I grew up in a Christian household, so I always knew that Jesus was there, but I never really knew what that meant. I never knew the gravity of the fact that Jesus died for all of our sins. It wasn’t one specific moment that made me understand, it was a collection of things that came to me. The beauty of nature, God’s creation; The unnatural brokenness in the world, and the understanding that I would not have been able to recover from my sin, if not for God.
One of the biggest struggles for me was my years-long struggle with addiction. It went on for so long, and I always knew that it was a bad thing but I couldn’t stop. I would not have been able to recover from any of it without God. I also struggled with doubting God. I felt like it was hard to find clear answers but the Lord has made himself more clear to me as he has helped me through life.
