Given the times we live in, it’s so easy to think we know best. This can, occasionally, include knowing best how God should be doing his job. The people of Jesus’s day had this too. They had expectations for how promised rescuer (the Messiah) should act. And Jesus didn’t match all those expectations. Even John, the forerunner to the Messiah, had questions whether Jesus was the one. And that’s where the story gets good.
