Philippians 2:5-11
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the very nature of God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death – even death on a cross.
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross – Frances Crosby
Jesus, keep me near the cross; there a precious fountain
Free to all, a healing stream flows from calvary’s mountain
In the cross, in the cross be my glory ever
‘Til my ransomed soul shall find rest beyond the river
Near the cross a trembling soul, love and mercy found me
There the bright and Morning Star shed its beams around me
In the cross, in the cross by my glory ever
‘Til my ransomed soul shall find rest beyond the river
Matthew 5:1-11
Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
Silent Prayer
All the Poor and Powerless – Leslie Jordan
All the poor and powerless
All the lost and lonely
All the thieves will come confess
And know that You are holy
And know that You are holy
And all will sing out, “hallelujah!”
And we will cry out, “hallelujah!”
All the hearts who are content
And all who feel unworthy
All who hurt with nothing left
Will know that You are holy
Will know that You are holy
And all will sing out, “hallelujah!”
And we will cry out, “hallelujah!”
O Jesus, meek and humble of heart,
Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being loved,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being extolled,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being honored,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being praised,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being preferred to others,
Delivery me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being consulted,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being approved,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being humiliated,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being despised,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of suffering rebukes,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being slandered,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being forgotten,
Delivery me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being ridiculed,
Delivery me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being wronged,
Delivery me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being suspected,
Deliver me, O Jesus.
That others may be loved more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be chosen and I set aside,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be praised and I go unnoticed,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be preferred to me in everything,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

Be Thou My Vision – Dallan Forgail
Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best thought by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light
Be Thou my wisdom, be Thou my true word
I ever with Thee, and Thou with me Lord
Thou my great Father, and I Thy true child
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee, one
Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise
Thou mine inheritance, now and always!
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart
High King of heaven, my treasure Thou art
High King of heaven, my victory won
May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s son
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall
Still be my vision, O Ruler of all
