Before knowing Christ, I was dead in my sin. There’s nothing else to it. I knew I was guilty despite my attempts at hiding from or rationalizing my sin. I accepted Christ as my savior during a time of worship at bible camp over 17 years ago. From there I spent many years in a youth group, serving on mission trips and investing a lot of time at my church as a student. For some reason though I always had excuses when it came around to baptism. I didn’t want the attention and focus on me, but that’s where I was wrong. . . it’s not about me but about what Christ is doing in me. I’m choosing to get baptized at this time because I want people to know what Christ has done and is doing in my life. I’m not longer dead in my sin and that I have hope because of what Jesus did on the cross, and I’m finally glad to publicly proclaim that.
