In my darkest moments, I found God in a way I never had before. It was through my struggles that His presence became undeniable. I wouldn’t know Him as my healer without facing sickness, my provider without experiencing lack, or my restorer without being broken.
Growing up without a religious household and facing a childhood marked by trauma and PTSD, I had to rely on survival instincts and navigate life alone. Despite these challenges, I’ve been blessed with a loving and supportive family and friends who stood by me. As I grew older, I became lost in my career and faced the difficult decision to get a divorce while caring for my one-year-old daughter, leading to a battle for joint custody. I led a self-righteous life during that time, believing I had to face everything alone. I was even led astray by Christian friends whose values conflicted with my understanding of being a good person.
Through these trials, I began to see Jesus’s true message—one of love, forgiveness, and redemption. By surrendering my life to Him, I confess my sins and recognize that through His sacrifice, I am forgiven and made new.
I chose to be baptized because I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, acknowledging that He died for our sins and rose again to give us eternal life. Baptism symbolizes a rebirth—a commitment to live according to Christ’s teachings and to join a community of faith. This is my affirmation of faith, my acknowledgment of His love, and my dedication to live a life guided by His grace.
